Question for Windows: I have been staring at a loading bar that has not changed it’s position in over 20 minutes. Why have a loading bar when it actually does not report progress of any kind?!

Yes, I have been just posting youtube videos lately, and I know that’s lame. My life has been super busy lately, I don’t have time for anything else! This song brings back such memories of university, sad nostalgia moment! Back when my life was so uncomplicated, if only I realized it at the time how good I had it, sigh.

Anyway, it’s so personal so I suppose no one else can relate. But aside from all that, it’s a really great song, so check it out anyway. I am going to try to post something more interesting content wise next time, I swears!

Utter defeat

I have been on hold with Service Canada for about half an hour now. Everything about dealing with the government of Canada is annoying, irritating, and slow. Let me explain. I have had this issue with my birth date being wrong in some government database somewhere. I’ve been dealing with this for years. I don’t know where it started or how the problem began, I’ve been told it was because one year my accountant provided the incorrect birth date on my taxes, I’ve been told it originated when I first got my SIN card at the age of I don’t know, five, I’ve been told it was just a data entry error along the way somewhere (if that’s the case, I want to hunt down the person who entered it incorrectly and punch them in the throat). I don’t know why this is an issue, and I don’t care. ALL I WANT IS FOR IT TO GO AWAY.

At this date, I have provided the government and various branches of the government, with my correct birthday as verified by my birth certificate a total of 8 times. Today I have to go into the Service Canada center by my house and verify it again for the 9th time. Seriously, I just… how are we still a country?

I can’t take it anymore Canadian government. You win. I am but an empty shell of the person I once was before all of this began. You have sucked every last ounce of motivation I once had to fix this problem. I accept defeat.

I’m not even sure. I briefly considered making this a music blog, and then I realized how much work was involved in that, researching and linking and posting mp3′s everyday blah blah blah and I got exhausted and felt like having a nap. So I’m not sure what I’m doing here, maybe this is a personal blog, maybe it’s a little bit of a music blog, I don’t know. Maybe I will end up just posting multiple pictures of cute puppies every day.

I liked tumblr because it was so quick and easy, but I realized, sometimes I want to get a little more in depth and rant about stuff, maybe I want to post more than one mp3, and I guess I just missed having the ability to have some more control over my posts. And frankly, tumblr has just become this pointless forum in which to find a random photo on the internet, repost it with no credit, have a billion other people repost it, and effectively have it lose all meaning the original poster ever meant for it to have, if they even did intend for it to mean something in the context of their tumblr, although usually, they don’t. I’m not even sure if that makes sense grammatically. But it’s my blog and I’m the boss of it, and I say it’s good.

I wish there was an actual reason I was starting this blog. There is nothing that exciting going on in my life that I really need to document, nothing exciting in a good way anyway. Frankly, my life is kinda crappy (note: HUGE UNDERSTATEMENT) at the moment. I’m not even sure how much of that I’m going to get into here, because I don’t want to bum everyone out and be all depressing and pitiful. Although I’m sure I will feel the urge to vent or indulge in a little too much personal information at some point, and I’ll just have to hope that my future employers don’t google me.

Anyway, this is my first post. I’m not even sure if I’ll come back here and add more, mostly because every few months I try starting a new blog and I generally get about 5 posts in before I’m sick of it and/or forget about its existence completely. I will try my best. Now I’m going to make grilled cheese sandwiches and watch Crazy Stupid Love (note: RYAN GOSLING, that’s why).
